BENEFITS OF GIVING

When life gets difficult and you feel things are just not going your way, take a moment and do something for someone you don't know. Open the door for a stranger, smile to someone who looks tired or sad, give blood, forgive someone...

A few years ago, someone gave me that advice and to be honest with you, I thought it "sounded" good, but I didn't see how it could help me with a big problem I was having to face.

And so one day I decided to purposely look for opportunities to help others. One of the things I did that day was help a total stranger find an office they were looking for. It doesn't sound like much, but the person was so relieved and thankful. Miraculously, it made me feel amazing and helped clear my mind. The more I help people, the better I feel. I know! How cliche!!!! BUT IT WORKS! Don't take my word for it ;)

Thanksgiving

Over the weekend, I was watching an episode of "Dexter" and at one point they were showing a family sitting down enjoying their Thanksgiving meal and they had to individually say what they were thankful for. All of their answers sounded very generic.
What I mean by that is: thankful for my health, thankful for my home , thankful for my family, thankful for my husband.....and so on.

What exactly does being thankful mean?

If you're thankful for your family, does this mean you should be grateful for who they are, faults and all ?

If you're thankful for your health, does that mean you should respect your body and exercise, eat well, not drink too much ??

If you're thankful for your home, does that mean you should always be on time paying property taxes, make sure the house is clean and well kept?

I believe that when someone is truly thankful, it shows in their actions.
And so I wonder, what are you seriously thankful for?

I'm thankful for my kids and for my husband.

Happy Thanksgiving !

Twitter..are you really connecting or just avoiding!

I've often been told that I should take the time to "connect" more with people through blogging, twitter, facebook, and so on. I agree it would be great for business and I'm sure eventually I will either take the time to do it or hire someone to do it for me:)

One of the things that I am most passionate about in regards to helping people is teaching them to prioritize, get organized and help them set health and lifestyle goals that will improve their quality of life and ultimately bring awareness to decisions they make and the results that these decisions bring.

What I'm noticing more and more now is this excessive need for people to "connect" with other people over the Internet through facebook and twitter.

I can understand how these connections can benefit someone's business and life, and can bring great information that they otherwise may not find. But my concern is that individuals start connecting to their computer screens more than their families!

A percentage of my clientele are people that are overwhelmed, frustrated, stressed, tired and cannot seem to get organized. They often feel that they just do not have the energy nor the time to get what needs to be done, done. And yes It can be quite challenging at times to raise kids, have a career, have a good/healthy/loving relationship, a social life, take care of aging parents and so on.
What gets to me is that so many have the time to go online for hours every day but they do not have time to sit with the kids and do homework, clean the kitchen, get healthy lunches ready for the next day, do laundry, exercise, have family conversations, have sex with their husband, and so on. What confuses me is that so many have this time and energy to go online for hours, but no time to commit to their "real lives". No time to listen to their families. No time to read a constructive book. No time to play a board game.

Please understand that I am not against going on Facebook, My Space, Twitter, Linked in... What I am concerned about is when these "outlets" become priorities.

I challenge everyone to take one week off. Just 7 days off from computer socializing and focus the extra time on your tangible lives.

I would be curious to hear your experiences to this experiment.

Good luck!

BACK FROM VACATION WITH A SORE BUTT!!

And so I went on this wonderful vacation with my hubby only to be introduced to "MONTEZUMA'S REVENGE" !!
This was a first time I ever got sick on vacation and hopefully my last! I hope never to meet with him again:) He's a pain in the butt...literally :)

I am somewhat back to "normal", then again normal is not quite the word my husband would use to describe me.

I have not been posting much lately for a few reasons.

1. I've been very busy

2. I find that some of the things I want to blog about, or maybe I should say that the way I want to express my opinions might be a little politically incorrect and some of my clients have access to this sight. And so I have not bothered.

But the more I think about it, the more it frustrates me that I feel this need to be so careful as to not upset some readers!

With that said, I've decided that I will blog about any topic I want (well almost any topic) and I promise to deliver it as I see fit :)

ME SICK ???

I've been sick !!
I've actually had a cough for 16 days! This is my first real cold in 4 1/2 years. I even had to go see a doctor and took antibiotics. The funny thing is, on day 9 of taking my antibiotics, I started a body rash! Red , itchy spots all over my legs, my butt and some on my arms. This is due to an allergic reaction to the drugs and so I've now had to get some "Benedryl" to help with the itching. For someone who prides in not taking medication, this past 2 weeks has been a good one :)
The worst thing about this is, that I am leaving on vacation next Friday and was hoping to go for a few tanning sessions and now I can't because of this rash! I will also be on an airplane for 6 hours and I've had to get a doctors note confirming that I do not have the "swine" flu just in case I'm still coughing a little.

O.K. You haven't heard from me for 6 weeks and now my post is one of complaints. Oh well, it happens to the best of us :)

I've met quite a few people that have experienced pain at some point in their lives. And this is one of the biggest reasons people come and see me. There are tons of things you can do to get healthier and help reduce "pain".

For insurance purposes, I usually do not give advice unless I have a detailed health history. BUT because this information is so crucial and because it is so effective, I will make this one exception.

After over 10 years of experience as a Natural Health Practitioner, this is by far the most effective way of reducing your personal pain.

SO, HERE IT IS . ONE OF THE MOST EFFECTIVE PAIN KILLERS EVER!!!
